The
Role of Technology in the 21st
Century Education
As time goes on, technology
grows widely and rapidly and developing more in advance. And as
everywhere we go, left or right, wherever we are at school or at
home, at work or at church, technology is just right there.
Technology almost changes
everything; our daily lives are much simpler than before. Buildings,
houses, churches and any other infrastructures are easily built by
the help of technology. Phones, flat screen television, i-pads,
notebook, tablet, laptops, computers, cooking from a pot to a rice
cooker, refrigerator, alcohol lamps to fluorescent light bulbs,
cars, comics to cinema, typewriter to digital printers, black and
white cameras to digital camera and ect. All of these things happened
because of technology.
If all those things are
contributed by technology, it also helps and develops in the field of
our education and our education’s system. Remember, that education
is one of the basic needs a person can also have.
Now imagine a room without
printed books, without a single thing like a computer. How does life
of a student and a teacher without those things or usable tools that
can help both the student and the teacher gain knowledge fast and
reliable? Just imagine that. If I will be asked that question and you
are to ask me about that, I could say, life of a student and a
teacher is not that easy. It would not be easy because without
technology, life could be that tough and slow.
If there could be advanced
technology like the use of computer. At school, teachers use
computers to assist with classroom instruction. Students complete
tasks, homework and conduct research on computers in laboratory, at
home or elsewhere. Some students could also take their entire classes
directly from their computer. Teachers can easily encode grades on
laptops and computer, while staffs at school could manage students’
payments and class subjects. Air conditioner and electric fans can
lessen the warm in the class. Thus, those things can help to have a
better environment in the students learning field and teachers and
staffs at their working place. Systems at schools can be effortlessly
work and done as fast as it could. Technology can help transfer
important messages and information that is needed to both students
and teachers.
As technology continues to
advance, life becomes much comfortable and simpler many ways. All in
all, technology makes us better.
But we should also remember
that we have to balance our lives in using technology. We must not
depend ourselves or everything to it. Too much use of technology
could result to the destruction of humanity.
